POC release Team AMANI Migration edition helmet and eyewear
POC and Team AMANI are proud to release the Migration limited-edition collection of helmets and eyewear. The new gold AMANI Ventral Air is combined with matching gold Devour sunglasses, each featuring a unique lanyard made by hand at the Maji Moto Maasai Women's project, a cultural centre and refuge for vulnerable Maasai women.
Designed and developed with the AMANI team and riders, the Migration edition celebrates the Migration gravel race, its unique place in the cycling calendar, and the fundamental role it plays in bringing global riders and focus to East Africa. It truly allows AMANI riders the chance to ride on their home turf.
Mikel Delagrange, Director and head cheerleader, AMANI, said – "The Migration edition exudes everything team AMANI stands for; it is a performance collection that is playful, colourful and makes you want to smile. A lot. It just fills you with positive energy. And, importantly, it focuses attention on the Migration Gravel Race, which is our way as team AMANI of levelling the playing field of international cycling. Throughout the development of this team, all the riders have wanted is the opportunity to compete against the best in the world, on home soil, so they can show the world how good they are and can be."
The helmet and eyewear collection, designed with Team AMANI riders, will be unveiled and used by the team on the first day of racing at the Migration Gravel Race, which starts on Tuesday, June 18th.
Derek Bouchard-Hall, CEO of POC, added,"We are incredibly proud to be part of Team AMANI and the Black Mambas development squad. Their efforts to enhance inclusivity in cycling and create opportunities for riders based in Africa is truly inspiring. And we can't wait for the Migration Gravel Race when they can take on the best in the international cycling field. POC's Migration edition collection is unique and will stand out in gold. It's the perfect illustration of a team with an incredible spirit making its own way."
The Team AMANI Migration limited-edition – details
The Migration limited-edition collection consists of the Ventral Air helmet, which the team uses throughout the season, and new Devour Clarity sunglasses. Both will be available online at POCsports.com and in selected official POC retail partners from Wednesday, June 19th.
POC and Team AMANI sat down and considered how best to convey the team's ethos and spirit, and a gold version of the team design naturally emerged from the discussions. Paired with a gold Devour and used only by the AMANI Team, it becomes a beacon of performance, aspiration, and one chosen by the riders.
In addition to the limited-edition colour, the Devour sunglasses feature a handmade Maasai beaded lanyard, crafted at the Maji Moto Maasai Women's Project using their Maasai Beadwork Initiative, which seeks to support vulnerable Maasai women.
Mikel Delagrange added – "As an event, the Migration Gravel Race has always had a clear focus on working and engaging with the local Maasai population, to ensure that they are the ones to benefit from the race. Without the Maasai, there would be no race, and our focus is very clearly to ensure that as we change cycling, we also support local communities and projects, which is why working with the Maji Moto Maasai project was essential to the team collection."

Maji Moto Maasai Women’s Project
Maasai Beadwork Initiative: The photos document the intersection of social impact and a quiet, authentic celebration of culture through indigenous art. This initiative is facilitated Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp, located between Narok, Kenya and the border of the iconic Maasai Mara.
It was launched to support local women by offering sustainable and quality employment opportunities aligned with preserving their rich culture. Since 2006 vulnerable Maasai women have been empowered and protected through a project nestled on the grounds of Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp.
The project offers a safe haven for widows, women with AIDS, girls facing early marriage, and the traditional practice of female genital mutilation (FGM-also known as “cutting”) outlawed in 2011, but still practiced in rural areas difficult to actively monitor. The project also extends to women in the community struggling to survive dueto difficult economic conditions. The project currently includes more than 40 Maasai women.
