The new Mammut freeride collection: EIGER Free – maximum performance for the most extreme conditions
Season after season, freeski athletes like Jérémie Heitz or Nadine Wallner seem to push the limits of what’s humanly possible. At several thousand meters above sea level, cut off from civilization, the right clothing is a lifeline. The fabrics have to withstand merciless weather conditions. The functionality and performance need to be designed for steep ascents as well as rapid descents. And on top of all that, the equipment must perform intuitively.
The new EIGER Free Collection is designed to enable young freeski pioneers to move mountains. To this end, it was developed and tested it in close collaboration with the international Mammut athletes. In addition to the new Pro series, the Advanced products focus on the best possible combination of durability and lightweight design, including the new GORE-TEX ePE membrane. Since 1995, Mammut EIGER has stood for maximum performance in mountain sports.
Eiger Free Pro HS Hooded Jacket Men | Women
Ultra-durable and uncompromising, this hardshell jacket is made for freeriding in the most challenging conditions. The GORE-TEX Pro membrane and the GTX Most Rugged outer material made from recycled nylon offer durable, abrasion-resistant protection against storms and wet weather. Ultra-breathable on the ascent, the style features additional "X-Vented" underarm ventilation with water-repellent zippers. Meanwhile, there’s plenty of space to store your essentials with two front and chest pockets, both with water-repellent zippers, and both of which are backpack-compatible and easily accessible, along with a mesh pocket and a zippered internal pocket. Integrated pocket pleats bring added volume. With its reinforced peak, the helmet-compatible hood can be easily fitted with a 1-point adjustment. While a drawstring hem with COHAESIVE® stoppers allows you to easily and precisely adjust the fit with one hand, even when wearing gloves. The sleeves of the Eiger Free Pro HS Hooded Jacket offer added comfort with a sleeve pocket with water-repellent zipper, hand gaiters, hook and loop fasteners at the cuffs and a zip-off snow skirt with anti-slip grip and double button placket for individual adjustment. Smooth-running and water-repellent, a YKK® VISLON® 2-way front zipper completes the look.

Eiger Free Pro HS Bib Pants Men | Women
With the high-cut Eiger Free bib pants, the GORE-TEX Pro membrane and the outer fabric made from recycled nylon provide protection against extreme wet weather, wind and cold. With durable GTX Most Rugged outer material, these hardshell pants are fantastically durable, without compromising on breathability. The ergonomic fit in a loose freeride look ensures full freedom of movement, while the leg width is adjustable via snaps. An avalanche transceiver can be safely stowed in the bib, in a zipped pocket with an internal loop. The fixed softshell bib is also treated with an antimicrobial finish. Two leg pockets with water-repellent zippers and a warm neoprene integrated smartphone pocket offer additional storage space. A water-repellent 2-way zipper offers side ventilation. Integrated anti-slip snow gaiters, reinforced hems and ski edge protection provide additional protection.

The GORE-TEX ePE membrane fabric is sustainable, waterproof, breathable and made without harmful PFCs. The jacket offers full freedom of movement for wide turns and fits perfectly to provide protection on powder descents. With its reinforced peak, the helmet-compatible hood can be conveniently fitted with a 1-point adjustment. The Aquaguard 2-way front zipper is water-repellent, as are the zippers on the "X-Vented" underarm ventilation, the sleeve pocket, and the two harness and backpack-compatible front pockets with cross-over entry. A zippered internal pocket and a stretch mesh internal pocket provide additional secure storage. Drawstrings with COHAESIVE® stoppers on the hem and hood allow you to adjust the fit with one hand, even when wearing gloves. The sleeves are articulated and feature hook and loop fasteners at the cuffs, a zip-off snow skirt with anti-slip grip and double-button plackets to adjust to your fit.

These performance-oriented hardshell pants are lightweight and have a small packing volume. Their sustainable, abrasion-resistant material with a PFC-free GORE-TEX ePE membrane is also waterproof and breathable. A wide waistband, which can be adjusted externally for a perfect fit ensures added comfort. The pants also feature two leg pockets with water-repellent zippers, a warm neoprene integrated smartphone pocket as well as articulated knees and optional side ventilation with a water-repellent 2-way zipper. The integrated snow gaiters have an anti-slip grip and the leg width is adjustable with snaps.

Eigerjoch Advanced IN Hooded Jacket Men | Women
Innovative and uncompromising: The ultra-lightweight thermal jacket (405g / men M) from the Eiger Extreme line can be worn as a mid-layer or an outer layer. The filling combines two insulating materials for an optimal balance of warmth and moisture-wicking power: premium, impregnated goose down from animal welfare sources provides warmth on the upper arms, body core and the inside of the hood.
Soft and stretchy PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Active™ synthetic fibers are used in exposed areas such as the shoulders, top of the hood, back and underarms, where increased perspiration can occur. Light rock contact and carrying a heavy backpack are no problem for the Eigerjoch Advanced and its ultra-abrasion-resistant Pertex® Quantum face fabric. The helmet-compatible hood features a reinforced hood peak. One zippered internal pocket and two climbing harness-compatible front zippered pockets provide plenty of storage space. The smooth-running YKK Vislon® 2-way zipper delivers additional comfort, along with the one-hand-adjustable drawstring hem with cord that can be stowed inside, and elasticated cuffs. Its low packing volume is another great advantage: the jacket can be packed away into its right-hand front pocket.

Eiger Free Glove
Featuring a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane and warming PrimaLoft® Silver Eco insulation, these durable goatskin gloves will keep your hands warm and dry, even on cold days in deep snow. The inner lining is made of micro-fleece. The stretchy neoprene cuffs feature a hook and loop fastener closure for a snug, adjustable fit. Non-slip leather panels on the inside offer added grip, while the 'pre-shaped' construction of the Eiger Free Glove, ready for gripping ski poles, makes it ideal for freeriding. A practical touch: glove line for critical moments, such as in steep couloirs.
